Multifocal IOL
Also known as “advanced technology IOLs (Intraocular lenses)”, these are a newer type of lens that has multiple focal points and reduces or eliminates the need for glasses or contact lenses after surgery.
These newer design of lenses are made from special materials and have unique features. Multifocal lenses (MF-IOLs) achieve distance and near vision through highly specialized optics that divide light and focus it on more than one point to provide a range from near to far eyesight.
To achieve the best results, the choice of lens is important for each patients individual needs.

Toric lens - Oculentis M Plus IOL
Oculentis’ innovative presbyopia correcting LENTIS M-Plus IOL features a completely new approach in multifocal lens technology. This lens has an innovative sector shaped near vision section that offers great advantages compared with other designs.
Accommodative Lens
Accommodative implants do not have zones like a multifocal/bifocal lens but move forward and backward within the eye, mimicking the natural visual process. Ability to read well without spectacles with these lenses is linked to the degree of movement achieved and this varies from person to person.
Some people still need glasses to read. The design does not degrade the quality of vision and so is a good option for those who drive at night.
Bioptics
This combines the technique of lens implantation within the eye, which corrects the majority of the refractive error, with laser technology which fine tunes any small residual refractive error, to optimise the final visual outcome.
